Better Decisions. Shared Responsibility. Human Judgment.
How do I make better decisions? How can we improve our board meetings? How do we deal with AI governance when it already feels out of hand?
These questions belong at The Wednesday Table.

Cosiamo | Founder, UMANIAMO® | Humaning Architecture
Cosiamo Bavuso (Peter Baverso) is the creator of Cognitive Advantage™ and founder of UMANIAMO®, where he develops approaches to human performance, leadership, and decision-making in AI-augmented environments. His work draws on experience across organizational development, systems integration, and human performance, including service as Human Performance Process Owner at Marine Corps Systems Command and development of the Human Performance Architecture Framework. The international Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) 2023 Thomas F. Gilbert Award honoree and International Federation of Talent Development Organisations (IFTDO) Executive Director in 2025–2026, Bavuso created Cognitive Advantage™ to help leaders see the human capacities behind roles and networks and determine whether the capabilities a consequential decision requires can reach and influence it.
In the past, LinkedIn has helped me reach people, but I want The Wednesday Table to live on a domain UMANIAMO® can steward over time. Anyone can read the work, and people who want to stay connected can choose direct email rather than depend on a social feed to surface each new piece. I also want the relationship with readers to be personal: you can write to me directly. The Wednesday Table is a publication and a point of contact, rather than an open public forum.
The Wednesday Table is a public Library: its essays, research, and other published materials are meant to be read and shared with attribution. It is not a private forum. Confidentiality governs how we treat the people and private information connected to this work.
In the spirit of UMANIAMO®’s Six Promises, we hold a deeper responsibility: to receive what people share with care, preserve their agency, and never treat a person’s trust as material to be used without regard for them.
UMANIAMO® will handle personal correspondence, subscription information, unpublished reflections, and other information shared privately with discretion and respect. We will use that information only in ways consistent with the purpose for which it was shared. We will not share our email list. We do not publicly announce donations or identify donors without their permission.
We will not publish private words, stories, or identifying details without permission. When someone contributes to the Library, we will discuss how their contribution may be used and how they wish to be identified. A person may ask us to correct or remove their contribution; we will consider that request with care.
These commitments put the Six Promises into practice: caring for the whole person; empowering agency and purpose; bringing evidence and conscience together; making room for reflection and discernment; honoring visible and unseen service; and supporting continued growth.
We ask everyone who communicates privately with UMANIAMO® to protect the confidence of others. Please do not forward private correspondence, identify another person’s contribution, or use someone’s unpublished words without their permission. Do not submit another person’s private information to an AI tool or other service without their informed consent.
Published Library materials may be shared with attribution and without misrepresenting their meaning. Private exchanges remain private unless the person who shared them agrees otherwise.
The Wednesday Table’s published work is public. A message sent directly to UMANIAMO® is treated as private, but no communication method can guarantee absolute secrecy. Information may need to be handled differently when required by law or when necessary to address an immediate risk of serious harm.
This covenant is a commitment to practice: to hold people’s trust with care, to respect their choices, and to remember that the person always matters more than the information they share.

Artificial intelligence is changing what people see, how choices are framed, and who or what shapes consequential decisions impacting all of us. The tools are advancing quickly. The human capacity to question their influence, bring missing perspectives into view, and take responsibility for a choice needs our deliberate attention.
UMANIAMO® is building that capability through the work of Humaning: helping people and institutions protect dignity, strengthen discernment, and exercise informed human judgment together. The Wednesday Table makes this work publicly available so leaders, practitioners, and curious readers can use it where decisions are being made affecting their own work.
Your donation helps sustain this independent nonprofit work: the research, writing, learning, and shared practices that make human judgment more visible and actionable. A gift supports a future in which technology can advance without leaving human responsibility behind.
If you believe people must remain present in the decisions that shape their lives, please help us carry this work forward. We are human together, or not at all.
UMANIAMO® is a nonprofit organized under Internal Revenue Code § 508(c)(1)(A) and registered in Washington State (UBI 605139953).
